About Tags
Tags are a simple way to allocate important attributes to each field so you can enrich the data within your TELUS Crop Management system. Tags belong to a Tag group, which determines whether they are custom, exclusive, or multi-season.
Custom Tag groups (like Field group) allow you to add / edit your own Tag names in the system. Non-custom Tag groups (like Protection status) give you a list of standardised options that are predefined within the system, which you can allocate to fields but cannot edit.
Exclusive Tag groups (like Soil Texture) allow you to add only a single tag from that group to a field within a season. Non-exclusive Tag groups (like Undersown status) allow you to allocate multiple tags from the same Tag group to a field.
Multi-season Tag groups (like Drainage notes), once added, will be copied to the subsequent field in the following year, provided the structure and size of the field remain the same.
Single-season Tag groups (like End Use) allow the tag to be allocated against the field for that season only. When a new season is started, these tags need to be re-selected.
Tags when dividing or sequencing When you divide a cropping record into part fields, or add a new crop sequence, any land-based tags are copied automatically to the new cropping records. Land-based tags describe the land itself, for example Field Group, Soil Texture and Rented Status.
Crop-specific tags, such as End Use, Irrigation Status and SFI, are not copied. Multi-season tags stay on part A only. Copied tags can be edited or removed like any other tag.
Tag group | Custom | Exclusive | Multi-Season |

❗The SFI tag group is only available for fields located in England. Multiple SFI tags can be applied to the same field/cropping record in a season, and they need to be re-selected each new season.

You can only edit tags that you created yourself. Standard, system-provided tags cannot be edited.
Hiding or deleting a Tag
If you created a tag yourself and it is not currently applied to any field, you can delete it completely.
If a tag you created is currently applied to one or more fields, it cannot be deleted — you'll be offered the option to hide it instead. Hiding a tag removes it from tag lists and filters without affecting any fields that already have it applied. Hidden tags can be viewed again at any time using Show Hidden Items, and can be unhidden if needed.
Standard, system-provided tags cannot be hidden or deleted.
Managing conflicts
The Manage Tags window has been optimised to make it easy to find and append tags. When a tag is selected from a Tag group, all fields that already have that tag allocated are selected.
If Apply tags is selected, a conflict message is shown:
Selected tag(s) conflict with existing field tag(s) and will not be applied. Clicking the Proceed button will apply the tag to all the fields that are currently green highlighted.
Tags in Nutrient Management
The Soil Texture tag group is also used when setting crop requirements in Nutrient Management. Changes made to Soil Texture tags there are reflected on the main Tags page, and vice versa, since both use the same underlying tag on the field's cropping record.
Using tags in Jobs, Inspections, and Trading
When selecting fields for a job, inspection, or trading record, you can filter the list of fields by tag. This makes it quicker to find and select the right group of fields.
