Update July 2026

Written by Cheryl Evans

Label Check is a new feature in TELUS Crop Management that gives you instant access to a searchable library of registered pesticide products. Whether you're planning a spray programme, checking a product's approval status, or looking up active ingredient information, Label Check puts the information you need in one place without leaving the platform.

Label Check is available to all UK and Ireland users on both the web and mobile versions of TELUS Crop Management.

How to access Label Check

On the web: Label Check appears as a new icon in the left-hand navigation bar, positioned below Nutrient Management and above Settings. Click the icon to open the product library.

United Kingdom “Standard”/ “Advanced”: Product level information / Hazard Data

United Kingdom “Premium”: Approval level information (including EAMU)

Ireland Standard/Advanced/Premium: Product level information available

On the TELUS Crop Management mobile app: Label Check appears as a new tab in the bottom navigation bar. Tap it to open the product library.

❗TELUS Crop Management Mobile app requires a signal. Label Check on the mobile app needs an active internet connection. If you're offline when you try to open a product, you'll see an alert letting you know.

Browsing and searching for products

When you open Label Check, you'll see a list of registered pesticide products organised by product type:

  • Adjuvant

  • Fungicide

  • Growth Regulator

  • Herbicide

  • Insecticide

  • Molluscicide

  • Other Pesticide

  • Seed Dressing

Within each product type, products are listed alphabetically. Click a product type heading to expand it, then browse by first letter to find the product you're looking for.

To search for a specific product:

  1. Use the search bar at the top of the product list.

  2. Choose whether to search by Product Name or by reference number, MAPP Number for UK users, PCS Number for Ireland users.

  3. Start typing, matching products will be highlighted automatically. On mobile, results appear after you've entered at least 3 characters.

  4. Clear the search to return to the full product list.

💡Note for adjuvant products: Adjuvants use an ADJ number rather than a MAPP or PCS number. The reference number search field is labelled "MAPP Number" (UK) or "PCS Number" (Ireland), but it will also search adjuvant reference numbers if you type them in. If you're not sure of the reference number, browse by product type instead.

Viewing product details

Click any product to open its detail panel. Depending on your region and product type, you'll see:

All users (UK and Ireland):

  • Product name and reference number (MAPP for UK non-adjuvant products, ADJ for UK adjuvants, PCS for Ireland)

  • Product type and company

  • Unit type

  • Active ingredients, including active group and concentration

UK non-adjuvant products:

  • Expiry date

  • Application type

  • Safety Notice (where available)

  • Hazard warnings with icons

Crop Approvals (UK Premium only)

If you're on a UK Premium licence, Label Check also shows crop-specific approval details for each product. This feature is not available to Ireland users.

Crop approvals appear as a list beneath the product in the navigation tree. Each approval shows:

  • Status: A green tick (✅) means the approval is current; a red cross (❌) means it has expired

  • Crop name: With a short code in brackets to distinguish approvals where the same crop appears more than once (for example, Wheat (FVO) or Barley (SDPeP)). The code is made up of the first letter of each word in the approval's application method, production stage, and protection type.

  • EAMU: Where an Extension of Authorisation for Minor Use applies

Click a crop approval to open the full approval detail panel, which includes:

  • Company and MAPP number

  • Application type and approval details

  • Quantities and rates, including maximum rate, maximum number of applications, and maximum total dose

  • Harvest interval and minimum application interval, shown in days and hours (for example, 90 / 00 means 90 days and 0 hours). Where no interval is defined, this shows N/A.

Printing product information

A print button is available on both the product detail panel and the crop approval detail panel. Click it to open your browser's print dialog and print the information shown.

❗Printing is not available on the TELUS Cop management mobile app

What Label Check covers

Label Check draws on the TELUS pesticide product database, which is sourced from UK and Irish regulatory data. It covers regulated pesticide products only, seeds and fertilisers are not included.

💡Note: Label Check shows the registered product data held in the TELUS database. Always refer to the physical product label and current regulatory guidance before making application decisions.

How Label Check relates to the Plant Protection Product Checking Audit Service

Label Check and the Plant Protection Product Checking Audit Service are two separate but complementary features that draw on the same underlying pesticide product data.

  • Label Check is a reference tool, use it to look up product information, check approval status, and review crop-specific details at any time.

  • The Plant Protection Product Checking Audit Service is a compliance tool, use it to run a formal check on a planned or completed job, verifying your pesticide applications against UK regulatory requirements. This feature is available to UK Premium users only.

For full guidance on running a compliance audit, see Plant Protection Product Checking Audit Service.
