About Products

Setup > Products allows you to create a list of products that will be used on fields when you record jobs. Product information can be added prior to entering the job, in the Setup module, or while creating a job or transaction.

Products are organised by type, including:

  • Pesticides — Fungicide, Herbicide, Insecticide, Growth Regulator, Seed Dressing, Molluscicide, Adjuvant, Unregulated Pesticide, Other Pesticide

  • Fertiliser

  • Trace Element

  • Biostimulant

  • Organic Manure

  • Lime

  • Seed / Plant

  • Produce / Secondary Produce

  • Other

Viewing and Searching Products

Products are listed in the Products section, accessed through the Setup module.

To search for an existing product already setup:

  1. Type all or part of the product name into the search bar (magnifier icon) in the top right corner.

To filter the product list by type:

  1. Select the Filter by selector in the top right corner.

  2. Choose the product type you want to view (for example, Fertiliser).

💡 Tip: If you are searching for a product and it does not appear, check that the Filter by option is not set to a specific type — this may be hiding products from your results.

To view a product's full details, select the product record from the list.

Adding Products

Adding a Pesticide Product

Pesticide products are selected from the TELUS Crop Management pesticide database, which provides additional information such as active ingredients and MAPP number.

To add a pesticide product:

From the Setup module:

1. Select the Products icon

2. Select + New Product button

3. Select Pesticide. The ‘Add Pesticide’ pane will open

4. Start typing in the text bar to search for the product you wish to add (on the line that reads Filter Text)

5. When the list populates, select the desired product (it will highlight and the add icon will change to a minus symbol).

6. If no product appears, ensure Filter By is set to All Pesticides and double-check the MAPP number and product name.

7. Click the tick to confirm — a product detail opens.

8. Optionally, enter a Default Rate. If set, this rate will pre-populate whenever the product is selected in a job (it can be edited within the job if needed).

9. Optionally, enter a Unit Price (see Product Pricing below).

10. Click Save

💡Only information you entered manually (such as default rate and unit price) can be edited after saving. Information pre-populated from the pesticide database — such as active ingredients and MAPP number — cannot be changed. If the wrong pesticide has been set up, you will need to delete it and add the correct one.

Adjuvants

An adjuvant is a substance added to a spray mix to improve how a pesticide works — for example, a wetter, sticker, oil, or water conditioner. Adjuvants are listed as a pesticide type within Setup > Products and can be added in the same way as other pesticide products (see Adding a Pesticide Product above).

💡 Note for adjuvant products: Adjuvants use an ADJ number rather than a MAPP or PCS number.

Why you might not find an adjuvant under the Adjuvant filter

Adjuvants come from a centrally maintained, regulated product list. Only products officially defined as adjuvants are kept under the Adjuvant heading — some products that were previously listed as adjuvants (for example, wetters and water softeners) are now classified under Other instead. If you can't find your product while filtering by Adjuvant, try checking under Other as well.

If you still can't find the adjuvant you're looking for:

  1. Clear any search text and check that Filter By is set to All Pesticides (or try Other), rather than a specific pesticide type.

  2. Double-check the spelling of the product name — try searching just part of the name.

  3. Confirm the product is registered for use in your account's country, as only registered, currently marketed products appear in search results.

💡If the adjuvant still doesn't appear after checking the above, it may not currently be included in the product list. You can create it as a custom product instead — see Adding a custom product or contact TELUS support so we can check whether it should be added to the central product list.

Adding a Fertiliser, Trace Element, Biostimulant, or Seed/Plant Product

These product types can be selected from curated picklists, which provide additional product information. If you cannot find your product in the list, you can create a custom product instead.

To add from a curated picklist:

1. From the Setup module select the Products icon

2. Select + Product, then choose the relevant product type.

3.Start typing in the text bar to search for the product.

4. Alternatively, for fertilisers, change Filter By to Analysis and use the Nutrient search to find products by nutrient content.

5. When the list populates, select the desired product.

6. Click the tick to confirm — a product drawer opens.

7. Optionally, enter a Default Rate.

8. Optionally, enter a Unit Price (see Product Pricing below).

9. Click Save.

Adding a custom product

If you cannot find a product in the curated picklist, or if you are adding an Organic Manure, Lime, Produce, or Other product type, you can create a custom product.

1. From the Setup module select the Products icon

2. Select + Product, then choose the relevant product type.

3. For Fertiliser, Trace Element, Biostimulant, or Seed/Plant: if the product is not found in the picklist, click + New [Product Type] to open the New Product pane. For Organic Manure, Lime, Produce, and Other, the New Product pane opens directly after selecting the product heading.

4. Enter the Product Name.

5. Complete any additional fields relevant to the product type:

  • Organic Manure: select the manure type.

  • Seed/Plant: select the crop, tick the box if it is farm-saved seed, select the seed class, and select any seed dressings.

6. Select the Unit.

7. Optionally, enter a Default Rate.

8. Click the tick to save.

9. In the product details, optionally, enter a Unit Price (see Product Pricing below). For Fertilisers and Organic Manures, select Nutrients, choose the relevant nutrients, and enter the percentage for each.

10. Click Save.

Editing Products

Editing a Pesticide Product

Only information that was manually entered when the product was set up can be edited (for example, default rate and unit price). Information pre-populated from the pesticide database cannot be changed.

To edit a pesticide product:

  1. From Setup, select Products.

  2. Find and select the product you want to edit.

  3. Update the relevant manually entered fields.

  4. Click Save.

💡If the wrong pesticide product has been set up, you will need to delete it and add the correct one.

Editing Other Products

All other product types can be edited at any time.

To edit a product:

  1. From Setup, select Products.

  2. Find and select the product record you want to edit.

  3. Update the relevant information.

  4. Click Save.

Hiding Products

If a product is no longer in regular use but has been used in past records, you can hide it. Hidden products appear dimmed in your product list and are also shown dimmed (but still selectable) in job product pickers — this keeps your lists tidy without removing any historical data.

How hiding works

When you attempt to delete a product that has been used in a job, transaction, stock adjustment, or Work Record, the platform will warn you that the product cannot be permanently deleted and will offer you the option to hide it instead.

Selecting Hide Item from the warning prompt will hide the product immediately.

Viewing and un-hiding hidden products

To see hidden products:

  1. From Setup, select Products.

  2. In the Filter by area, tick the Show hidden items checkbox (this checkbox appears when you have hidden products in your account).

To un-hide a product:

  1. Locate the hidden (dimmed) product in the list.

  2. Click the unhide icon on the right-hand side of the product row.

  3. The product will return to its normal active state.

💡Hiding a product does not delete it or affect any historical records where it has been used.

Deleting Products

A product can only be permanently deleted if it has not been used in any job, transaction, stock adjustment, or Work Record. If a product has been used, you will need to hide it instead (see above).

To delete a product:

  1. From Setup, select Products.

  2. Find the product you want to delete.

  3. Click the delete icon on the right-hand side of the product row.

  4. When the confirmation warning appears, click Confirm Delete.

⚠️ Important: Deletion is permanent. All product details — including pricing, nutrient information etc — will be removed. This action cannot be undone.

Product Pricing

As you add a new product, you can enter a unit price. How this price is used depends on your subscription level:

  • Standard users: The price you enter is used for the product across the current season and can be edited at any time.

  • Advanced & Premium users: The price you enter is used as the starting price. Once trading information is added, an average unit price is automatically calculated from your trades and replaces the entered price. This average price cannot be directly edited. Advanced users can also enter a separate price per business.

Product Units

When setting up a product, you will select a unit. TELUS Crop Management supports two separate units per product:

  • Stock Unit — the unit used when recording stock levels and trades.

  • Application Unit — the unit used when the product is applied in a job.

This allows you to record stock in one unit and apply in another where your products are bought and used in different measures.

Tips and Notes

  • Product names must be unique within your account for the same product type.

  • A default rate set on a product will pre-populate in jobs but can always be overridden at the job level.

  • Products can be added directly while creating a job or transaction — you do not need to set them up in advance through Setup.

  • If you cannot find a product when searching, check the Filter by option is not restricting your results to a specific product type.
