The migration process from Gatekeeper Desktop to TELUS Crop Management will transfer the entire business structure (Grower – Holding – Farm – Field) for up to 10 years as well as transfer any soil sampling inspections that have been carried out during that period. You also have the choice to migrate your COMPLETED operational data if needed. For Agronomists it will not send recommendations that have not had completion dates entered.

It will not currently migrate intensive cropping customers who have field plots enabled.

Agronomist steps

You should have received an email from your grower that has recently purchased TELUS Crop Management and they would like you to initiate the migration of their data to their TELUS Crop Management account.

πŸ“’ Before commencing the migration process please ensure that you have selected your yield region in Gatekeeper as shown below. This is essential for the successful migration of your data.

πŸ“’ Before the migration of data can take place, you must ensure that the Grower has logged into their TELUS Crop Management account and set up their profile including selecting their region and select that you are importing from Agronomist

To initiate the process:

1. Select File from the menu bar.

2. Select Export.

3. Select TELUS Crop Management Migration Export.

4. Select An agronomist sending data to a grower account.

5. Copy the Migration Key contained in the email you received into the Migration Key section.

6. Select the Main business you wish to migrate from the dropdown and then choose the number of years worth of data you wish to migrate (maximum 10 years).

7. Tick the Add operation data tick box if you wish for ANY COMPLETED operational data to be transferred across.

8. Tick the working area disclaimer message and the Next button will become available to click.

9. The Select Data section will allow you to migrate all fields groups or alternatively select the specific field groups within a specific season that you wish to migrate data for. Click Next when your selection has been made.

Validation will check the structure of your data and make sure that all the necessary mandatory elements are present, and the migration can proceed.

πŸ“’ Should the validation fail at this point you will be presented with a reason and can contact support to assist you in rectifying the issue.

10. Click Next upon successful validation.

11. It will then present what crop group will be used in TELUS Crop Management for each one of your user defined crops. This step in the migration allows for custom crop names to be turned into Field Tags and applied to the relevant fields in question. If no crops appear then simply click Next and move on to the next step.

13. Once your selections are made click the Next button and the export process will begin. You can either go into the publishing centre and send now or when you next do a full synchronisation the publication will be sent then. Click the synchronise button to pass the data to your TELUS Crop Management account.

Grower steps

When you log back into your TELUS Crop Management account you should see a number against the notification bell to signify the number of businesses that have been sent to you.

  1. Click on the notification bell and then on the Migration Status option to open the Migration Status window.

Here you can confirm the businesses that you wish to import into your account or alternatively reject them.

2. Click the Approve button to start the import. The import process will now begin step by step, you will see this complete through the progress bar and if successful the section will show as Complete.

3. If any anomalies arise the import will pause at the relevant section and you will be presented with data that will need further clarification/amendment. Here we will be covering anomalies within the Products section. This will only apply if completed operations have been chosen to be exported.

4. Any Adjuvant that are not truly Adjuvants' will appear here. If your product isn't listed under the current category, select Product not found to assign it to other, it will the create the Product in TELUS Crop Management. For example, Adjuvants like wetters and water softeners, previously categorised under Adjuvants, are now classified under Other.

5. TELUS Crop Management requires fertilisers to have nutrient analysis entered against the product, where a product contains no analysis it will be displayed here for you to correct by either searching for the product, if you can find it, it will add the analysis automatically. If not, select Product not found from the Product dropdown box. Your input here is dependant on the Type that you select as follows:

  • Fertiliser - your product has not been found in the list of fertilisers we hold, but it is a fertiliser from your perspective then select fertiliser, you will have to input your own analysis as that is a requirement.

  • Other - Does not deliver any nutritional benefit therefore no further information/analysis is required.

  • Trace Element - Analysis then becomes optional and there is no mandatory requirement to record this information.

6. TELUS Crop Management uses variety name based on the Crop Definitions List. Where we are unable to match a seed name to a unique crop please select the most relevant from the options presented.

πŸ’‘If your seed name is for a different land use such as a Cover or Trap Crop, Game Cover, Grass or Stewardship Scheme then please link this Seed & Plant to the Crop Unspecified and the Variety to Crop not found and your original seed product will be migrated unchanged.

You may also add optional enhanced information such as seed dressings by clicking the Seed Dressing button and whether the seed was farm saved by ticking the Farm saved seed tickbox.

7. Once you are happy the products have been reviewed/corrected click confirm to continue and create the operation jobs. Once all the sections are completed the Migration Audit Report will then be available. Click the Migration Audit Report button to open it.

TELUS Crop Management has a more streamlined and reduced selection of product headings, this means that during the migration of your data some products will have been moved from their previous heading to a TELUS Crop Management appropriate one. The report will show you a list of your products that have had changes made to them. Check you are happy with this content before proceeding.

8. Finally click Continue to complete and close the migration status window and start using TELUS Crop Management.

If for any reason the migration has not been successful, then please contact support and they will assist you in resolving this issue.
