Gatekeeper Desktop Agronomist Recommendations to TELUS Crop Management Growers.
Gatekeeper Desktop Agronomists now have the ability to establish a relationship with a TELUS Crop Management user and send them a Recommendation, which will automatically appear in TELUS Crop Management. The TELUS Crop Management product range includes TELUS Crop Management Standard, Advanced and Premium.
Setting up Gatekeeper data
Before you set-up the relationship between TELUS Crop Management Grower and Gatekeeper Agronomist, you must ensure that the farm data matches in both systems to ensure that Recommendations can be imported easily. If, for example, field names don’t match, TELUS Crop Management simply will not know which fields the recommendation includes. A warning will be shown and the recommendation will not be imported. However, the farm data can easily be edited (in either system) to ensure that the records match and once this has been done all future recommendations can be imported.
To make this task easy, we recommend that a Field List or Cropping (Summary) is printed and referred to when creating/editing fields.
Step 1 - Setting-up the Relationship between Gatekeeper Desktop Agronomist and TELUS Crop Management Grower
To activate this feature, the Growers TELUS Crop Management Organisation Key must be entered into the Gatekeeper Desktop Relationship Manager in order to authenticate the relationship.
To do this:
TELUS Crop Management (Grower)
Open TELUS Crop Management in the normal way.
Go to Setup and then select Personnel.
For any advisor who has an email address stored against them, you will be able to click 'Email my organisation key'.
If you also want to enable automatic import of this advisor's recommendations, then:
Select the advisor name.
Tick the 'Automatically import recommendations' option.
Select the green tick to save and close.
This will mean that any recommendations that match your TELUS Crop Management data will flow straight into your jobs module as draft jobs or plans. Any recommendations that contain conflicting information will still need to be imported as usual.
Gatekeeper Desktop (Agronomist)
1. In Gatekeeper Desktop go to the Setup menu and click on Businesses
2. Select the Business with whom you want to set up a relationship and then click Setup Relationships
3. In the Setup Relationship Credentials window, select Gatekeeper Cloud from the treeview
4. Enter the Organisation Key provided by the TELUS Crop Management Grower into the Organisation Key box. Click OK
Step 2 - Agronomist sending the Recommendation to the Grower
Once the Recommendation has been created and is ready to be sent to the Grower, it should be published in the normal way, via the Publishing Centre.
To do this:
1. Create the Recommendation and Issue as normal.
2. Either click Publish from the options within the Recommendations module or Publish Gatekeeper Plan from the ‘Issue and Publish Plan’ window. The ‘Add New Publication’ window will appear.
3. Make sure that the Relationship Manager option is selected, as shown below.
4. Click OK. The Recommendation will be sent to your Publishing Centre ready for sending.
5. To send the Recommendation either;
Do a full Synchronise by clicking on the Synchronise icon in the module bar. Click Synchronise in the window that follows.
Open the Publishing Centre from the module bar. Click on the Outbox tab and click Send Now (N.B. this sends only and does not carry out a full Sync).
Step 3 - Grower receives the Recommendation Jobs into TELUS Crop Management
If you have enabled automatic import of recommendations for your advisor(s) this step will only be necessary if there are warnings or conflicts.
The Recommendation Jobs will automatically appear in TELUS Crop Management. When Recommendation Jobs are available for importing a red notification badge will appear next to your avatar (top right). The number shown will indicate the number of Recommendations waiting to be imported.
To import the Recommendations, click on the avatar beside the red notification badge
From the menu that appears click Import Recommendations
The available Recommendations will be shown in the Select recommendation jobs to import window that follows
In the example shown below 2 Recommendations, each with one Job, are waiting to be imported and have been validated.
Symbols are used to indicate the validation results as follows;
This warning is stating that the field in the Agronomist records has a different variety to the field in the Grower’s records. This can still be imported but please check you are happy before doing so.
This error is stating that the field in the Agronomist Recommendation cannot be found in the Growers records. The Recommendation Job cannot be imported until this is rectified. N.B. This may be due to incorrect spelling – it is important to make sure field names match.
Import failure scenarios
The following scenarios will give you a red import failure. You will not be able to import the job until the situation is resolved, either by changing the information in your TELUS Crop Management, or by asking your agronomist to change their details and re-send the job.
If the job has already been sent to you in TELUS Crop Management, and you have already imported it into jobs.
Suggested resolution: delete the replicated job.
If the job contains a different business name than your own.
Suggested resolution: check with your agronomist that the correct job has come from the correct business in their Gatekeeper, and ask them to re-send the job.
If the job is for a season which you do not have in TELUS Crop Management.
Suggested resolution: check the job is for the correct cropping season. Move into the new season and import the job there. See Manage Seasons.
If the job contains a field that does not exist in your TELUS Crop Management.
Suggested resolution: create the field (see Setup Fields) and return to import the job.
If the job contains a field that does not exist with the same name, suffix (if used) in your business in this season.
Suggested resolution: make sure the field has a crop in the current season, and that any suffixes used match your agronomist.
If the job contains a field with a bigger area than that field has in your TELUS Crop Management.
Suggested resolution: if the agronomist has the wrong field size, ask them to adjust this and re-send the job. If your records have the wrong field size, adjust the field record.
If there are more fields in the job than in your TELUS Crop Management, or if the field sizes add up to more than what is in your TELUS Crop Management.
Suggested resolution: if your agronomist has the wrong field sizes, as them to adjust them and re-send the job. If your records have the wrong field sizes, adjust the field records.
If your agronomist has not been added to your personnel list.
Suggested resolution: add your agronomist to your personnel list – see Setup Personnel.
If the job contains a fertiliser product without nutrient analysis set up.
Suggested resolution: Ask your agronomist to ensure all fertiliser products have nutrient analysis setup in their Gatekeeper
Import warning scenarios
The following scenarios will give you an orange import warning. You will not be stopped from importing the job, but you will be warned that there is a potential issue:
If the plan you are importing has the same name as a plan that already exists in your TELUS Crop Management
If the crop or variety that your agronomist has for a field is different to the crop or variety you have against the field record
