About Syncing

Each time you save any change to a job, that change is sent to the TELUS Crop Management website automatically as soon as you have an internet connection.

You do not need to do anything to trigger a sync. It happens in the background while you use the app.

The Sync Tab Icon

The Sync button at the bottom of your screen changes appearance to tell you what is happening. You can tap the Sync icon at any time to open the Sync page and see more detail.

One or more changes have failed to sync

Cloud with a line through it with a purple circle that has a number in it

You are offline and you have some pending changes that will be sent to the TELUS Crop Management website when back online

The Sync Page

The Sync page is split into two sections:

Pending

This section shows any changes that are waiting to be sent. Each item shows the job name and the time the change was made.

If you are offline, a message will appear explaining that changes will be sent once you reconnect. You do not need to do anything. The app will send them automatically.

If there are no pending items and you are online, you will see a green tick confirming that everything is up to date.

Failed

If a change could not be processed because of a problem it will appear in the Failed section. A red circle with a number in it on the Sync tab will alert you to this.

Each failed item shows:

  • The job name

  • When the failure occurred

  • An error message explaining what went wrong

Dismissing a Failed Record

If a change for a job has failed and you want to remove it from the list (for example, if the change is no longer needed or you want to try and make the change again), you can dismiss it:

1. Open the Sync tab

2. Find the failed item in the Failed section

3. Swipe the item to the left

4. Either swipe all the way to the left or tap the Dismiss button that appears

❗Important: Dismissing a failed job removes any pending changes you have made for this specific record. The change will not be saved to the TELUS Crop Management website. Once you dismiss you can go back into the job and make the same change again. If issues persist you can contact support.

Sync Errors on a Job

If a job has a failed sync record, a red warning banner will appear at the top of that job. You will not be able to complete or save further changes to the job until the error is dismissed.

To resolve this, open the Sync tab and review the error message in order to dismiss the error and try again. Contact support if you are unsure how to proceed.

Managing changes between the TELUS Crop Management Website and the app

If you have the job on your phone and changes have been made to the job on the TELUS Crop Management website afterwards you must refresh the mobile app before making any further changes. If you do not, you will receive a sync error like the below on the mobile app and you will have to dismiss the error to make your changes again. Please refer to the How to Refresh Your Job List section for how to do this.
