Understanding Notifications in TELUS Crop Management

Written by Cheryl Evans

TELUS Crop Management alerts you to activity that needs your attention using a notification bell in the top-right corner of the screen. This article explains what triggers notifications, where they appear, and how to clear them.

The notification bell

The bell icon sits in the top-right corner of the screen, next to your name.

The bell only appears when you have notifications waiting. If there is nothing to action, the bell will not be visible.

When notifications are pending, a red badge on the bell shows how many are waiting. Click the bell to open the Notification Centre and see what needs your attention.

What triggers a notification?

Connection requests and changes

You will receive a notification when:

  • Another organisation sends you a connection request

  • A connection you have is modified — for example, the sender changes what data they are sharing with you

  • A connection is deactivated or reactivated

Connection notifications appear at the top of the Notification Centre. You can Accept or Reject a pending request directly from there.

❗Admin users only: If your account is connected to other organisations, you may also see notifications when a connected account is archived or when a migration is in progress. These appear as separate entries in the Notification Centre.

Recommendation imports

When recommendation jobs are imported into your account, a red notification badge appears next to your avatar in the top-right corner. Newly imported jobs are also visually highlighted in the Jobs board with a New Rec label until you have viewed them.

Support access

If a TELUS support team member requests access to your account to help you, you will receive a notification. You will also be notified when that support session ends.

Clearing notifications

Notifications clear when you act on them:

Notification type

How it clears

Connection request

Clears when you accept or reject the request

Connection modified / deactivated

Clears when you dismiss it from the Notification Centre

Recommendation import

Badge clears once you have viewed the imported jobs

Support access

Clears automatically when the support session ends

You can also dismiss individual notifications manually from the Notification Centre.

Mobile app

The mobile app does not have a notification bell or Notification Centre. Instead, it surfaces alerts in two ways:

Sync alerts — If a job fails to sync, a red warning banner appears on that job and the job is locked. You cannot complete or save further changes until the error is resolved.

To dismiss a failed sync record:

  1. Open the Sync tab.

  2. Find the failed item in the Failed section.

  3. Swipe left on the item and tap Dismiss.

⚠️ Important: Dismissing a failed sync record permanently removes any unsaved changes for that job. Those changes will not be saved to the website.

Support messages - A badge on the Profile tab shows unread messages from the TELUS support team via the in-app chat.

Notification preferences

There are currently no in-app settings to turn individual notification types on or off. Notifications are triggered automatically based on activity in your account.
